Bitdefender Mobile Security

I think it is fair to say in 2021 at the backend of a global pandemic, most of us spend time online each day. Whether it is on our Computers, Smartphones or Tablets. Some of us are even running our lives or businesses on these mobile computers.

Now more than ever we need to protect ourselves online and also our devices. Our banking details, passwords and treasured memories are often stored on our Smartphones. In this article today, I am going to take a look at the best Android security

When choosing a security application for your Android device, it is important to choose a reputable brand to ensure your device stays malware-free. I recently purchased the brand new Google Pixel 6 Pro, and whilst Google has added a lot of behind the scenes security features, it still has its risks. Bitdefender Mobile Security has a variety of useful security features to make sure it is class-leading.

First and foremost, Bitdefender Mobile Security will protect your device from all new and existing threats. The app will automatically scan any newly installed apps or APK files to ensure they do not pose any threat to your privacy or important data. The app will also protect your mobile browsers and auto alert you if you visit a fraudulent webpage, this is thanks to its advanced anti-phishing system.

Bitdefender Mobile Security also includes a VPN service, this includes 200 MB of encrypted data per day. VPN’s are becoming more important each day due to the ever-advancing cyber security threats we face online. Apple recently introduced their own style VPN with iCloud+, therefore it is great that Bitdefender is including this for Android users.

In the old days, Antivirus suites were often associated with slowing down your device whilst doing scans or downloading updates. Luckily times have changed, Bitdefender Mobile Security has little impact on performance or battery. The app can also scan for any security breaches associated with your email address/online accounts.

Another reason why I personally use paid security applications on my device is for the anti-theft features. There is nothing worse than losing your device, touch wood this has only happened to me once but I can still remember the pain and disruption to this day. The way Bitdefender mobile security works is via a web portal, you will be able to locate your device on a map, trigger an alert (Message/Siren) and also lock the device with a code. The app will also cleverly snap a photo using the front camera after three failed attempts to unlock your device. Not only this, but you can also lock your most personal apps behind a PIN or Fingerprint of your choice. This is perfect If you are often sharing your device with others.

There are other measures you can also take in protecting your Smartphone, try to avoid sideloading applications that are not already approved on the Google Play Store. Always use a fingerprint or passcode on your devices and avoid connecting to unknown WIFI networks without first enabling a VPN. It is also worth enabling two-factor authentication on your online accounts, for more information on 2FA, please visit two-factor authentication.

Thank you for taking the time to read the article and remember, stay safe online!
